Walking
The Coast Path passes Porthcothan 600 yards from the house. There are local walks to suit everyone: round the nearby headlands; along Constantine beach and up to Trevose Head; or to Stepper Point after a visit to Padstow Farm Shop. Serious walkers can take the Path 14 miles north past all the 7 Bays into Padstow, or go south past Bedruthan Steps to St Mawgan.
The headlands from Bedruthan Steps to Padstow and on to Port Isaac and Tintagel are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Much of it is owned by the National Trust and inhabited by seasonal varieties of birds and wildflowers.
A regular bus service runs close to the Coast Path, so you can walk wherever and as far as you like and catch a bus back.
