Porthcothan House is an enchanting 5 star Georgian farmhouse on the North Coast of Cornwall, mid-way between Watergate Bay and Padstow. It overlooks Porthcothan Bay, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is 600 yards from the beach and Coast Path, 2 miles from Constantine and Trevose and 5 miles from Padstow.
Recently restored and modernised, the house is light and spacious, elegantly furnished, full of character and has a lovely atmosphere. It has 6 well proportioned bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a shower/steam room and sleeps 11 – but is also perfect for 2.
The sitting rooms are warm and comfortable; adults have the space to get away if they want to; the kitchen is well equipped; and the large adjoining dining room and conservatory are ideal for entertaining. Almost all the rooms face west across the garden to the coast and have views of the sea and setting sun – and a whisper of breakers at high tide.
Contemporary oak floors, central heating, log fires and double glazing complement original slate flagstone floors, period features, a glass-covered sealed well and other thoughtful details and fine touches.
