Perfect for family holidays or an out-of-season break that is extra special. This impressive property, believed to date back to the 18th Century, stands next to the coast road on the hill overlooking Porthcothan and has super views across an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to the sea. Recently restored to a high standard it is spacious, light, full of character and extremely comfortable. Porthcothan Bay, a lovely sandy beach sheltered by sand dunes and a National Trust headland, popular with families and surfers, is 600 yards away or a 10 minute walk (all but 30 yards along the road is via a footpath). There is a small general stores right next to the beach and the Tredrea Inn is only 200 yards down the road – ideal for a drink or a meal. Also nearby are: St Merryn (2 miles), with baker, general stores and other shops and restaurants; Trevose Golf Club (2 miles); the picturesque town of Padstow (5 miles) with quaint harbour, interesting shops and Rick Stein’s and other seafood restaurants; and Newquay (7 miles in the other direction) which has a number of family attractions, including Newquay Zoo and Water World and is a mecca for surfers the world over.
